Tipton inducted as Fellow of Knoxville Bar Foundation

Posted on May 15, 2017

Hanson R. Tipton was inducted as a Fellow of the Knoxville Bar Foundation on May 11, 2017.  Each year, the Foundation inducts a new Fellows class which is less than one percent of the active bar association.  According to the Foundation, Fellows represent attorneys who have distinguished themselves in the practice of law and service. The Foundation’s board of directors reviews numerous nominations and determines the inductees who have demonstrated superior legal skills, high ethical standards, and service to the community.

The Knoxville Bar Foundation was formed in 1992 to provide a means for lawyers in the Knoxville community to make contributions to be used to support local law–related programs. The Fellows Program was designed to fulfill two purposes: first, to support the community services and programs funded by the KBF through Fellows' contributions; and second, to publicly honor and recognize those lawyers who have distinguished themselves in their practices and in their service to the Knoxville legal community. Since 1997, the KBF has awarded grants in excess of $370,000.00 to fund local projects and programs seeking to improve the administration of justice, to enhance the public's understanding of and confidence in the legal system, and to serve the legal profession.
