Court Grants Summary Judgment to Defendants in Craig v. City of Alcoa, et al.

On December 17, 2014, the Honorable Thomas A. Varlan granted summary judgment to all defendants in the lawsuit Ryan Darres Craig v. City of Alcoa, et al. No. 3:13-cv-00241, filed in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Tennessee at Knoxville. The Plaintiff’s Complaint alleged a violation of the Fourth Amendment’s protections against the use of excessive force by City of Alcoa, Tennessee police officers in their use of a taser to apprehend the fleeing Plaintiff.  After briefing by the parties, the Court granted full summary judgment to the City of Alcoa and defendant police officers, dismissing the case.
