Benjamin Lauderback asked to speak at CIT Conference for local law enforcement

Posted on January 15, 2013

In January, Benjamin Lauderback was invited to attend and
provided an overview regarding the defense of civil rights litigation with
members of law enforcement.  His discussion centered on the defense of
police officers who have been sued after subduing and arresting a plaintiff
with mental disabilities in the civil rights context.  This was the fifth
occasion Mr. Lauderback has been invited to speak with various members of law
enforcement from throughout the East Tennessee area.  The week-long
seminar held for law enforcement members dealt with critical intervention
training as it pertains to interacting with members of the community who suffer
from various mental conditions and disabilities.  Mr. Lauderback focused
his discussion and talking points on the defense of civil cases filed by arrestees
or families of arrestees against law enforcement.
