Tipton appears on WBIR's 10 News at Five

Hanson R. Tipton appeared on WBIR’s 10 News at Five on April 25, 2014 to discuss the Knoxville Bar Association’s “Get to Know Your Judicial Candidates” website, a public service of the KBA to provide information about each of the candidates running in Knox County judicial elections this year. The project originated in the KBA Judicial Committee, of which Mr. Tipton is a co-chairman. The site, which is a special section of the main KBA site (www.knoxbar.org), went live in early 2014. The KBA plans to keep the site updated throughout the year at each stage of the election process. Early voting for the Knox County Primary Election is taking place through May 1, and Election Day (for the Primary) is May 6. The general election will be on August 7.
The primary focus of the site is biographical information about the individual candidates and information about each court. This information, delivered in a straightforward and easy-to-understand format, provides a convenient way for voters in Knox County to get non-partisan information about candidates running for judge so they can make informed decisions at the ballot box. The site also includes resources from the League of Women Voters and details on the election process from the Knox County Election Commission so that voters will know what to look for in a judicial candidate.
