I am a member of the firm, and have been a member since 2003. The cases I generally handle involve civil litigation. I concentrate my practice in litigation at the pre-trial, trial and appellate level. While I do not have a limited area of practice on which I focus, most of my case load involves the defense of personal injury cases and governmental tort cases. These types of cases can include everything from car accidents to defending civil rights lawsuits.
You will notice I am admitted to practice not only in the State of Tennessee, but also in the United States District Court Eastern and Middle Districts of Tennessee and the United States Court of Appeals Sixth Circuit. You will also notice I have not listed a bunch of organizations to which I am a member. Though I belong to a couple of local ones, and while a small number of professional organizations can have admirable goals, I have found that the vast majority are more than willing to hand over a certificate of membership and a plaque for your wall in exchange for simply having a check forwarded to them. Time spent belonging and contributing to many of those same organizations, no matter how impressive they may sound, would result in time spent away from my clients' affairs, as well as time away from my wife, four children and whatever seasonal sport I may be coaching for them at the time.
If you believe you may need legal assistance, and are looking for a lawyer who is willing to do his best for you and your case, I would be glad to speak with you at anytime about your legal issues and questions. I do not know everything about the law, and anyone who tells you they do needs a serious reality check. I will not be afraid to tell you if I am uncomfortable handling a specific type of case, and if that occurs I will be glad to help you obtain legal representation in the area you may need.
